Anthony started his own business, Anthony’s Gardens, 30 years ago. His father was his role model and mentor. His father, a stone mason, taught him all about stone work, how to take pride in his workmanship, and to always strive for excellence. Armed with those values, Anthony went out on his own. Over the years, he honed his skills to become more just a landscaper but also a designer and master stone mason. His craftsmanship was like artwork. Over the years he has gained a reputation for being the person for the job if you wanted an oasis in your backyard or a designed look to your landscaping, Anthony was the man to call. He made intricate stone patios, walkways, and stairs, waterfalls, lush flower gardens, and countless other projects one might see in a designer homes or in the pages of a home magazine. Nothing made him happier than to see his clients happy faces as they gazed upon his finished work. During the winter months, he really enjoyed snowplowing. Over the years he plowed for the City of Lowell, town of Chelmsford, and Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Anthony was a past member of the Billerica Elks. He loved riding his motorcycles and was a longtime member of the Cosmic Cadets Motorcycle Group. He was an avid sportsman and member of a gun club where he practice target shooting with friends. He loved to cook and always managed the grill. He was an excellent mechanic and could fix almost anything that had a motor. He loved animals and would always bring home stray dogs. His family often referred to him as the “dog whisperer”. He had a great devotion to his family. He was his parents’ caregiver and worked tirelessly to make sure they remained home with him. He was a proud and loving father to his four children.
Anthony was the loving father of Sean Middlebrook of Orlando, FL, Alexis and Caleigh Bertolaccini of Chelmsford and Anthony Bertolaccini of Nashua, NH.
