Obituary of Theresa Michalski

Theresa A. “Terri” Michalski, a retired head teller, passed away on Wednesday morning, March 28 at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington. She was 87 years old. Terri was the youngest of 10 children born to Levite and Alice Deprey. She grew up and was educated in Fort Kent ME and Quincy MA. She married her late husband, Leonard Michalski in Boston and they settled in Medford to raise their children. She stayed at home with her children and ran the household for many years. She returned to work at the Boston Five Cents Savings Bank on Milk Street in Boston. During her almost 20 years with the bank she rose to the position of head teller. Not long after the bank was purchased by Citizens Bank in 1993, Terri being in her 60’s decided it was time to retire. Her retirement years were spent living in Malden. This past July, she chose to move in with her daughter in Billerica. Terri was a bit of a homebody. She was very happy cuddling up on her couch or favorite chair and immersing herself into a book or crossword puzzle. She was very happy in her kitchen cooking and baking for family and friends. She made the best chocolate chip cookies and you could never stop at having just one. She also loved her dog, Sammy, and cats, Willie and Sox, who were great companions to her. She enjoyed family vacations at Hampton Beach and lunches with the “FRB Girls”. She enjoyed being a member of a bowling league with her girlfriends. Terri had a gentle and kind soul. She effortlessly balanced her roles of being a mother and friend with her children. Her children could talk to her about almost anything and she could be empathetic, warm, and open like a best friend while at the same time being honest, wise, nurturing, protective, and influential as only a mother can be. Her unconditional and unceasing love for children and grandchild never had to be expressed because it was always manifest in her actions, words, and sentiment she shared with them during their entire life. . Terri was the beloved wife of the late Leonard W. Michalski. She was the loving mother of son Mark Michalski & his wife Lynn of Lexington and daughter Lori Michalski of Billerica. She was the proud grandmother of Jamie Michalski. She was predeceased by 9 brothers and sisters. . Funeral from the Edward V.
