Obituary of David Garside
David Charles Garside, a life long resident of Burlington, passed away unexpectedly on April 7, 2018. He was 64 years old. David was born in Arlington. He was the son of John and Catherine Garside. For David, growing up in Burlington was a great experience. The town was growing at an amazing rate and the neighborhoods were filled with children. But, it still possessed the small town feel. David grew up riding horses and it wasn’t unusual to see someone riding a horse through a neighborhood on route to a more remote location in town. Sports were a big part of David’s life. He played softball, skied, and golfed. He coached his children’s baseball and softball teams. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Burlington Baseball and Softball Association. He was a loyal fan of all the Boston Sports teams. He loved sharing his passions with his children. They went on ski trips and many camping trips. As a grandfather, he was so excited to see his grandson playing hockey. David also loved going out to eat with family and friends. He will be remembered as a quiet man with a gentle soul who loved all his family and friends.
David was the loving father of Michelle Garside of Lexington, Jeremy Garside of Burlington, and Kelly Garside of Burlington. He was the caring brother of Gail Pieslak & her husband Robert of Polk City, FL, Robert Garside of Tucson, AZ, James Garside of Lakeland, FL, and late Jack Garside and his surviving wife Joanie Garside of St. Petersburg, FL. He was the proud grandfather of Max Correia of Burlington. He was also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials in David’s name may be made to the LVAD Clinic at Brigham and Women's Hospital, c/o Development Office, 116 Huntington Ave., 3rd Floor, Boston, MA 02116 or www.brighamandwomens.org.
