To the entire Brine family;
I send my love/hugs/and prayers to the entire Brine family in this time of great loss.
I feel my life's value was lessened by not having met this wonderful patriarch. I'm sure the memories you have of this wonderful man will keep him alive thru generations to come.
I was very happy to make a small donation to his memorial fund. An awesome way to keep his memory and purpose alive.
Again - much love to you all.....
Sadly,
Barb Elliott

Recent surgeries prevent me from attending the Wake and Mass. However, I send my condolences to all of you. Jim and Nancy were such supportive parents for all those years, attending countless games at Austin Prep. Their involvement with the Athletic Committee and the Friends of Austin were appreciated by all who knew them. Their contributions and presence at the Golf tournaments helped to make those events successful. I am proud to say that knew and worked with them in the education of their children. Jim has probably found the best path to rollerblade on in heaven. I pray for all of you during this grieving period.

My sincere condolences to the family of "Jimmy" Brine. From our Russell School years to our four years at Rindge Tech, we were friends. Jimmy was an athlete, scholar, businessman and a great family man. I will miss "Jimmy" being at our Class of 1956 table at the Rindge Alumni Annual Dinners that he and many of our classmates participated in over the last few decades. He supported the communities in which he operated his stores. I recall the Harvard Square location and his opening of the Belmont Store in Waverley Square. I often met with him and his son who ran the store. Though we are now fewer in number the Class of 1956 will be forever indebted to the legacy of James W. Brine, Jr. Rest in Peace dear friend.

Cousin Jim was able to get a pair of the very scarce Adidas running shoes for me back in '75. It seems that my Converse high tops were killing my feet and knees. Can't say that I still have the shoes but I'm still running on the same knees 43 years later!
We offer our prayers in this sad time.
