Please accept my sincere condolences. Michael was one of my tutoring students while at MSMS. He was always smiling and pleasure to have in class. He was always talking about how proud he was of his father and our military in general. While this is definitely the wrong order in life, I wanted you to know how proud he was of you (father) and how much he loved and respected you.

Don't know where to start! Me and mike where such good friends, we would face time a lot when he couldn't sleep because of his medication, and we would have such long conversations about life and random things. He was such a great kid we would always talk about dirt bikes and how much he loves military, and other activities we botched life's, but we also had a great and strong relationship between us. He told me one night I'm one of a kind and one day he's gonna marry me and we were gonna take a trip to Japan and try all weird stuff around there and I just remember sitting there and smiling and saying "that would be breathtaking". Well that's not the only thing I miss about him. There's so much more about him that made him special and just him self. He's such a great person and so caring and out going. I'm truly gonna miss him but he's in a better warm place and no pain, he's peaceful and with us all. Thank you <3

As a fifth grader, Michael was the kid we could always count on for a laugh and a quick witted comment. More importantly, though, he was the defender of the underdog. He stood up for those who had a hard time doing it themselves. Michael was one of a kind. Praying for strength & comfort for his family.

I worked with Mike in the NYPUM program in 2014-2015 and am so saddened by this news. He was a guy with so much life, spirit and charisma. I’m glad to hear he was able to fulfill some of his dreams and aspirations before he passed away.
I am so sorry for your family to have to endure something like this. Just know that he made an impression on many people who knew him, myself included.

Shaun and Vanessa,
Michael was such a bright spot in my day and I will forever hold dear the talks that we had. Michael always had a story to tell and I looked forward to hearing every one of them! I learned about his passion for his country, the United States military, scary movies, Mexican food and Little Debbie’s zebra snack cakes. I witnessed his loyalty towards friends, his tremendous love for his family....especially his little brother and sister and the courage he displayed while dealing with all aspects of his cancer treatment... he was inspiring. I don’t have the words to adequately express my sadness for the loss of your beautiful son, just please know that your family is in my thoughts and prayers. Michael will always hold a very special place in my heart.
Love,
Stacey

Dear Madden Family,
My daughter Angie knew Mike since they went to Memorial School together. He was a great kid. He stuck up for her at a difficult time. She said Mike wanted to be a soldier and that he would be perfect because he was brave, loyal and honest. I’m sure He showed many other acts of kindness and joy to his friends. The world is a better place for him having been here. God rest his soul and God bless you all during this time of. impossible sadness.
All Our Love,
Stacey, Steve, Amanda and Angie

Shaun, Vanessa, Ethan and Kendall - Michael touched our family’s hearts in so many ways. A beautiful, young man that we feel honored to have had as a part of our lives. He had a kind soul, strength, courage, loyalty to his family and friends, an amazing sense of humor and stories he could tell like no one else. Words cannot express how grateful we are for the friendship he had with Nick. Michael will remain forever in our hearts and we will cherish all the great memories we shared. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Please know we are here if you should need anything at all – today, tomorrow and always.
