Obituary of Marie White

Marie (McNeil) White, passed away at her home on Wednesday afternoon, May 23, 2018. The beloved wife of the late Lawrence White, she was 94 years old. Marie was born in Somerville. She was raised in Burlington. She was one of 9 children born to the late Arthur and Helen McNeil. Marie was a graduate of Burlington High School. She worked as a Secretary for Raytheon for a number of years but her primary role was that of wife to her husband Lawrence and mother to her son Michael. She was a supportive wife and mother. She had an upbeat and positive personality. Marie was a woman of deep faith and was a longtime Parishioner of St. Anthony’s in Woburn. She was a member of the Magnificat Joy of Boston, The Third Order of Mary at St. Joseph’s in Medford and the Sodality Woman’s Group at St. Barbara’s in Woburn. Marie was driven by her compassion for others and her faith. She believed in the power of prayer. When people had a problem or something was troubling them they would reach out to Marie and ask her to pray for them. Marie will be fondly remembered as a caring women. She will be in the hearts of those she loved and will be forever missed by her son Michael and his wife Donna. Marie was the wife of the late Lawrence. Loving mother of Michael & his wife Donna of Woburn, formerly of Malden. Sister of the late Barbara Slack, Margaret DeBenedictis, Helen McKenna, Elizabeth Collupy, Arthur, Harriett, Charles, and Laurence McNeil. A visitation will be held at the Edward V Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128/95 Woburn side) on Tuesday, May 29 from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main St., Woburn at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn
