Obituary of Jean Cunningham

Jean Cunningham, the longest living resident at Nexus, Inc. in Woburn, passed away at her home on Sunday afternoon, June 10, 2018, Jean was 86 years old. Jean was born in Cambridge. She was disabled at a young age and spent many years living in Fernald State School in Waltham. In 1974 she left Fernald and went to live independently in Woburn. Despite all her health challenges throughout her life Jean created a wonderful life for herself. Jean worked as a housekeeper for the New England Rehab in Woburn for over 20 years. During her retirement years she would walk down the street to the Yellow Cab Company and help with their housekeeping needs. Jean had many interests and hobbies. She enjoyed playing bingo, bowling and played a mean game of poker. Jean loved music and enjoyed playing her guitar and singing songs. She was a huge red sox fan. Jean enjoyed going out to eat and taking vacations with her friends. She was very thankful and appreciative for all that her friends and support staff did for her. She would always say “Thank You and God Bless You”. If you really made Jean’s day you would get her trade-mark “two thumbs up”. Jean was the beloved daughter of the late Leonard & Margaret Cunningham. She was the twin sister of the late Joan Caido & her late husband Manuel Caido. Jean is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends at Nexus. A visitation will be held at the Edward V Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128/95 Woburn side) on Thursday, June 14 from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Church, 280 Main St., Woburn at Noon. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials in Jean’s name may be made to NEXUS, Inc, 888 Main St., Woburn, MA 01801
