Obituary of Margaret Gosselin
Margaret M. Gosselin, a lifelong resident of Burlington passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2012. She was 88 years old. Margaret was born at home on Mountain Road in Burlington in 1923, when Burlington was just a small farming community. She graduated from St. Charles High School in Woburn and Emmanuel College. She enjoyed teaching at the Center School in Burlington until she started her family. After her children were grown, she worked at Solid State Testing, St. Joseph’s Church Rectory, and helped her son at his company, Action Termite Control.
Margaret’s life was all about being with family and friends. She loved socializing, visiting friends, playing cards, and being with her family. She enjoyed traveling, with her husband and then later with her brother and his church groups. She was a member of the Young at Heart Group at St. Barbara’s Church, and volunteered one day a week at the Winchester Hospital. She enjoyed the summers spent at Sebago Lake with her family. She always wanted to be on the go or surrounded by her loved ones, friends, and neighbors. She saw Burlington develop from a small farming community where you knew everyone by name and the Burlington Mall was only a sandpit to a large town filled with high end office space, retail shopping centers, and 23,000 residents.
Margaret was the beloved wife of the late Edward Gosselin. She was the loving mother of Patricia Archer & her husband John of Kingston, NH, James Gosselin & his wife Evelyn of Manchester, NH, and Dennis Gosselin & his wife Julie of Burlington. She was the sister of the late Rev. Richard Brady. She was the grandmother of Christopher Elkins, Dennis Gosselin, Margo Elkins, and Jimmy Gosselin and great grandmother of 4.
