Freemont Coolidge Obituary

Freemont E. “Monty” Coolidge of Billerica passed away at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center on Tuesday, February 21, 2006. He was 83 years old.


Mr. Coolidge was born in Rumford, Maine. He was the son of the late Eugene C. and Jennie Coolidge. Mr. Coolidge was a Veteran of World War II serving his country in the Army Air Corp. from 1943 – 1946. He attained the rank of Corporal. He was the recipient of the American Theater Campaign Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal. Mr. Coolidge retired as an Executive Manager from Sandvik Co. in Burlington.


Mr. Coolidge was a devote Christian. He worked to build St. Dorothy’s Catholic Church in Wilmington. He was an active member of St. Margaret’s Church in Burlington. He was on the Parish Counsel, a Lector, and Eucharistic Minister. Mr. Coolidge was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a Past Grand Knight for both Tewksbury and Wilmington. He was also a Past President of the Holy Name Society.


Mr. Coolidge is the beloved husband of the late Pearl A. (Landry). He is the loving brother of Jean McPherson of Billerica and the late Donald Coolidge. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Burlington side) on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 12 Noon.
