Obituary of Katherine Donabed

Katherine “Kay” was born in Richmond, VA, the daughter of Armenian immigrants, the late Kricor and Rose Bahadurian. She grew up in Watertown and then lived in Cambridge and Arlington before settling in Burlington. She worked for Armstrong Ambulance in Arlington for many years. She loved her job and her fellow employees. Katherine was a member of the Malden Moose and the Burlington Council on Aging. At the Burlington Council on Aging, she ran the afternoon Bingo for many years and enjoyed the dinners, dances, and other functions held at the center. She also loved to shop! She enjoyed crocheting and making handmade blankets and enjoyed going to the Foxwood Resort. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her family and friends. She was also blessed to see the birth of her twin great grandchildren last month. She will be sadly missed. Katherine was the beloved wife of George Donabed. She was the loving mother of Nancy Javian and Katherine “Kathy” Schill both of Burlington. She was the sister of Michael Barr of Woburn, Irene Poonarian of NJ, Esther Yegian of NJ, and the late Harry Bahadurian. She was the devoted grandmother of Lori Morad of Wilmington, Kimberly Javian and Robert Schill both of Burlington and great grandmother of Nicholas and Jonathan Morad. Funeral services will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Friday, Aug. 31 at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington.
