Dear Linda,
Words cannot express our sadness about Ed's passing. He was a good friend of 34 years.
Bob and I will always remember his humor, smile and his way of teasing everyone.
To you and your family we send our thoughts and prayer.

We were English friends of Edward and he and Linda showed us great kindness on our visits to the USA. They took us to see many places we would not otherwise have visited; the Shaker village at Hancock, the Navy Yard in Rhode Island, the Norman Rockwell Gallery, a model engineering exhibition and many others. He will remain in our memory as a kind generous and cultured man.

Ed Arini, a good friend and fellow modeler, was quietly extraordinary. Beyond his engineering interests and skills, he was a student of many phases of maritime history. But more important than that, he was a most generous human being. No one was more unselfish with his time and helpfulness. We can credit Linda for the same. As a pair they were recognized by all who know them as especially kind. He was active in his professional life and as much so in his hobbies. He lived life fully and accorded his fellow man respect and even affection. If you are on the water when a tugboat goes by, you discover that even though it moves at a only moderate speed, it leaves a big wake. So did Ed Arini.
