Alice A. Woloski, former co-owner of Diane Marie Cleaners in Waltham, passed away after a short illness on Sunday morning, July 22, 2018. She was 73 years old. Alice was born in Lawrence, MA. She was the daughter of Joseph and Vicky Dykers. She grew up and was educated in Waltham. She met her future husband, Robert, when she was in high school. They married and quickly started a family. By the age of 25, she had had her four children. They lived in Waltham until settling in Burlington in 1971. Alice and her husband, Bob, owned and operated Diane Marie Cleaners in Waltham for 33 years. During those years they operated 2 locations in Waltham. One on River Street and the other on Main St. It was truly a family business. She worked side by side with her husband Bob and her children all at one time worked for them. She was involved in every aspect of the business from the pressing of the clothes to working with customers to handling the financials. Sometimes, she started her workday at 3 in the morning and continued to late in the afternoon. During their 3 decades in business, her warm and bubbly personality, welcoming smile, and attention to detail made her many loyal customers who were like friends. Alice and Bob both loved the ocean. Bob’s preference was boating on their boat, “the Debbie Sue”, which was a 33 foot Egg Harbor, while Alice could be just as happy at their Falmouth vacation home lounging on her patio, reading a book, and watching the boats go by. They were members of the Watertown Yacht Club and the Point Independence Yacht Club in Falmouth. She loved shopping and after her retirement, she worked part time at Bed Bath and Beyond. She had numerous circles of friends at work, in Burlington, Waltham, Falmouth, and Watertown whom she enjoyed socializing with. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She always wanted everyone to be happy and placed their needs and desires first. She cherished every moment she shared with her family from holidays, family celebrations, vacations on Cape Cod and California, Sunday dinners, cookouts, or any place or event where her family might be gathered. Alice’s other interests included reading, cooking, caring for her beloved dogs, watching Hallmark movies, and being with those she cared for. Alice was the beloved wife of the late Robert F. Woloski. She was the loving mother of John Woloski & his wife Carol of Woburn, Paul Woloski & his wife Tammy of Arcadia, CA, Deborah Barnes & her husband Steven of Mashpee and Susan Woloski of Burlington.
