Obituary of Mildred Lovgren

Mildred “Millie” Lovgren, a woman who’s live revolved around her family, passed away after an extended illness surrounded by her family on Tuesday morning, May 15, 2012. She was 78 years old. Millie was born in South Boston, the daughter of the late Joseph and Ida Schultz. Her family moved from South Boston to the Winnmere section of Burlington in the 1940’s. She graduated from St. Charles High School in Woburn in 1951. She married her late Husband Oscar Lovgren and they made their home in North Woburn for 48 years. She was blessed to have lived the past 5 years with her daughter, son-in-law and 3 grandchildren She worked as a systems analyst for John Hancock in Boston for 38 years. Millie had a great devotion to all her family. She grew up in a strong family and steep in family rituals and celebrations. Millie was a sweet, caring, independent and loving person. She had a wonderful relationship with her daughter and friend, Joann. She loved her 3 grandchildren and fortunate to have been immensely involved in their daily lives. She and her siblings were devoted to their parent’s well being in their later years. She shared a special bond with her sisters that were filled with laughter and lasting memories. Simply said, her family was her biggest joy in her life. Millie interest outside the home included going to Bingo with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling. She loved the ocean, sun, clams, lobster, and seafood. Millie enjoyed watching movies and her Judge shows. She loved flowers. She very much enjoyed her husband’s garden where she always had beautiful flowers to pick and fresh vegetables as well. She leaves a legacy of family, love and friendship. Millie was the beloved wife of the late Oscar L. She was the devoted mother of Joann Petrovich & her husband Stephen. Daughter of the late Joseph and Ida Schultz. Sister of Joseph Schultz, Jr. of Londonderry, NH, Irene Kraatz of Batavia, NY, Alice Molinari of Stoneham, Ann Ericson of Ashburnham, Ida Donovan of Littleton and the late Josephine Schultz. Grandmother of David, Hannah & Hailey Petrovich. Niece of Jenny Stevenson of Winchester. Sister-in-law of Sonja Ostlund of Woburn. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and cousins. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Friday, May 18 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Memorials in Millie’s name may be made to a charity of one’s own choice.
