Obituary of Eleanor Boyer

Eleanor A. (Brown) Boyer, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away at the Winchester Hospital on Thursday morning, November 15, 2007. She was 92 years old. Eleanor was born in Newport, New Hampshire, the daughter of the late Charles and Ellen Brown. She was raised in Newport, New Hampshire and was a graduate of Towle High School. She moved to Brighton and worked at Jordan Marsh. She married her husband, Richard, and they lived in Arlington and Waltham before settling in Burlington in 1959. When they retired, they moved to Jupiter, Florida. After her husband passed way in 2005, Eleanor moved back to Burlington to be closer to her family. Eleanor devoted her life to her family. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker. She was a member of the wives of Burlington Rotarians, &quote;The Rotary-Ann’s”, formed in the 60s. Eleanor will be remembered by her many friends, and sadly missed by her family Eleanor was the beloved wife of the late Richard C. Boyer. She was the loving mother of Susan E. Sawyer of Burlington and Richard C. Boyer, Jr. & his wife Ann of Rimrock, AZ. She was the sister of Dorothy Carton of Needham, formerly of Hull, Joseph Brown of PA, Jeanne Weir of IN, and the late Charles Brown and Margaret Vuori. She was the proud grandmother of Harry Sawyer of Wakefield and John Sawyer of Wilmington and great grandmother of Kaitlyn and Bridget Sawyer of Wilmington. A graveside service will be held at the Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Bedford St., Burlington on Tuesday, November 20 at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Memorials in Eleanor’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
