Obituary of Morin Keltgen

Morin E. “Skip” Keltgen, a longtime resident of Woburn, passed away at the Pilgrim Rehabilitation Center in Peabody on Saturday evening, November 17, 2007. The husband of the late Marion A. (Lowe), he was 78 years old. Skip was born, raised and educated in Gettysburg, SD. He was the son of the late Theodore J. & Bethel H. Keltgen. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving his country in the United States Navy from 1948 – 1952. While in the Navy he met his wife Marion and made his home in Massachusetts. He was the recipient of the Navy Occupation Service Medal. They lived for a brief period in Somerville before settling in Woburn in 1962. Skip worked as a Postal Manager at the Woburn Mail Facility retiring in 1985 after 30 years of Government Service. For a number of years during their retirement Skip and Marion would spend their winters in Arizona. Skip was a talented craftsman. He enjoyed woodcarving and painting. He was a self-taught artist and had a passion for painting. He loved the sea and his favorite scenes to paint were seascapes. He won a number of awards for his paintings. He was a member and Past President of the Woburn Guild of Artists. He was also a member and past Exalted Ruler of Woburn Lodge of Elks #908. Skip had a zest for life and enjoyed music and dancing. He will be deeply missed by all those who loved him. Skip is the beloved husband of the late Marion A. (Lowe). He is the loving father of Debra A. Marr of Woburn, and Theodore J. “Ted” Keltgen & his wife Lana of Billerica. He is the brother of Darwin Keltgen of SD & AZ, Donna Engel of SD, and the late Keith Keltgen. He is the grandfather of Danielle L. Kebadjian & her husband Edward of Goffstown, NH and Melissa M. Keltgen of Hollywood, CA. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Wednesday, Nov. 21 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Barbara’s Church, 138 Cambridge, Rd., Woburn at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
