Obituary of Helen Weiss
Helen J. (Serafin) Weiss, a resident of Burlington for the past 13 years, passed away on Monday morning, November 26, 2007. She was 84 years old.
Helen was born, raised and educated in Cambridge. She was the daughter of the late John and Catherine Serafin. Helen lived in Somerville for many years until moving to Burlington 13 years ago. She lived in the Birchcrest Apartments where she made many friends. Helen was a hard working woman. She worked for many years at the Cambridge Nursing Home. Helen’s life revolved around her family. She was devoted to her family. She was a very special “Nana” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Helen is the beloved mother of Helen & her husband Ken Clancy of Burlington and the late Barbara Samalis. She is the sister of the late Anthony Serafin and Wanda O’Hearn. Helen is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn Street, Burlington (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday, November 29 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. In lieu of flowers memorials in Helen’s name may be made to VNA of Middlesex-East & Visiting Nurse Hospice, 607 North Ave., Suite 17, Wakefield, MA 01880.
