Obituary of Irene Bardsley

Irene M. (Foster) Bardsley, a resident of Burlington for the last 11 years, passed away at the Winchester Hospital on Tuesday, December 18, 2007. The wife of the late Richard T. Bardsley, she was 75 years old. Irene was raised and educated in Lowell. She was the daughter of the late Leonard and Rachel Foster. Irene and her late husband resided in Waltham for many years where they raised their family. Irene worked for over 20 years as an Assembler at KYBE in Waltham. She was a member of the Rosary Guild at the Sacred Heart Church in Waltham. She enjoyed traveling and spending time at the Senior Center. Her family was the most important part of her life and her grandchildren were precious to her. She always looked forward to babysitting her grandchildren and family dinners with her children and their families. Irene was blessed to have a life that spanned 75 years filled with many special times surrounded by her loving family. Irene is the beloved wife of the late Richard T. Bardsley. She is the loving mother of Brian Bardsley of Burlington, Thomas Bardsley of Waltham, and Ralph Bardsley of Franklin. She is the sister of the late Doris Foster. Irene is the grandmother of Michael Bardsley of Lowell, Melissa Bardsley of Burlington, Steve Bardsley of Chelmsford, Kenneth Weiner of Framingham, Pamela Weiner of Natick, Brian Bardsley of Attleboro, Matthew Bardsley of Attleboro, Sarah Bardsley of Franklin. She is the great grandmother of August, Matthew, Steven and Kaila. Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt.128, Woburn side) on Friday, Dec. 21 from 9 – 10 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Malachy’s Church, 99 Bedford St., Burlington at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Mt. Feake Cemetery, Waltham. Memorials in Irene’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
