Obituary of Corrine Burrell
Corrine B. “Connie” (Rahaim) Burrell, a resident of Burlington for 45 years, passed away at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center on December 28, 2007. The wife of Bruce W. Burrell for 52 years, she was 77 years old.
Connie was born in Gardner. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Emily Rahaim. She lived in Gardner until she was in the 8th grade and then her family moved to Quincy. She was a graduate of the class of 1948 from Quincy High School. Connie was working as an Assistant Bookkeeper at Sears where she met her husband Bruce. Connie and her husband settled in Burlington in 1962 where they raised their family and became an active member of the community. She was past President of “People Helping People” an organization that both she and her husband were very involved in. Connie was also a Town Meeting Member. She was a volunteer at both Winchester Hospital and Lahey Clinic Medical Center as well as the playground at the Fox Hill School. In addition to creating a loving home for her family Connie also worked part-time at Middlesex Community College and Jordan Marsh. Connie was an avid tennis player and golfer. She enjoyed socializing with her many friends whether it be playing a game of cards and going out to dinner. She was a faithful Parishioner of St. Mark’s Church in Burlington. Connie was blessed to have a life that spanned 77 and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Connie is the beloved wife of 52 years of Bruce W. Burrell. She is the loving mother of Bruce E. Burrell of Portland, ME, Mark D. Burrell & his wife Davina of Windham, ME and the late David M. Burrell. She is the sister of Edward Rahaim of Canton, and the late Caroline Jackson and Paul Rahaim. She is the grandmother of Dalton of Windham, ME. Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday, Jan. 3 from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Followed by Funeral Services at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Burlington at 11 a.m. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington.
