Gail Georgopoulos, loved to cook and entertain passed away after a long illness at the Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation of North Reading on Sunday night, April 2, 2006. She was 77 years old. Mrs. Georgopoulos was born in Malden the daughter of Greek immigrants, the late Stamati and Angelina Salemis. She was raised and educated in Malden and was a graduate of Malden High School. She left Malden after she was married and made her home in Reading for a number of years. She then moved to Murphy NC for 25 years with her late husband Evangelos where they enjoyed cooking and entertaining for their many friends and large family. She had resided in Massachusetts for the past 5 years. Mrs. Georgopoulos is the beloved wife of the late Evangelos Georgopoulos. She is the loving mother of Nick of Murphy, NC, Linda & her husband Mark Stephan Sr, of Burlington, Steven & his wife Annamaria of Melrose, Jamie & his fiancée Julie of Woburn, Maria & her husband Rich of Atlanta, GA, and John & his wife Nancy of NC. Sister of Catherine & her husband Gus Christy of W. Hartford, CT. She is the grandmother of Mark Stephan Jr.& his wife Michelle of Burlington, Melissa & her husband Dr. Joseph Gallagher of Maine, Michael Stephan of Burlington, Angela Alexander and Adam Rovinelli of Georgia, Elaina, Stephanie, & Evan Georgopoulos of Melrose, and Zack & Makayla Georgopoulos of NC. Special people in her life also included Grace Fuller and Barbara Westberg of Tewksbury. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday, April 6 at 10 a.m. Followed by a Funeral Mass at the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
