Obituary of Mary DeCarpis
Mary F. DeCarpis passed away at her home with daughters at her side on Sunday morning, April 20, 2008. She was 97 years old.
Mary was the daughter of Italian immigrants, the late Joseph and Saveria Sansone. She was raised and educated in Medford. She had made her home in Arlington until settling in Burlington 39 years ago. Mary’s life was all about her family. She was a delicious cook and her family always looked forward to her Italian dishes. She had a wonderful trip to Italy. Mary was a sports fan and most especially enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox.
Mary was blessed to have a loving husband Eugene, who passed away in 1998. She had 2 devoted daughters who loving cared for her in final years. She was the proud grandmother of 7 and great grandmother of 11 great grandchildren.
Mary is the beloved wife of the late Eugene F. She is the loving mother of Dolores Dawson & her husband Edward of Lawrence and Joyce Rinaldi of Burlington & her late husband Rudy. She is the sister of the late John, Vincent, Salvatore, and Joseph Sansone. She is the grandmother of Paul Rinaldi of Burlington, Gina DiRocco of Reading, Lynne Taylor of Chelmsford, Denise Longo of Methuen, Michelle Rogers of Haverhill, Jeanine Gagne of Chester, NH, and the late Andrea Hilse. Mary is also survived by 11 great grandchildren. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Wednesday, April 23 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Interment will be private. Memorials in Mary’s name may be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack Street, Lawrence, MA 01843.
