Obituary of Mary Pizzuro

Mary T. Pizzuro, a resident of Burlington for over 43 years, passed away at the Woburn Nursing Center on Thursday evening, July 3, 2008. She was 89 years old. Mary was born in Lawrence. She was the daughter of Italian immigrants the late Angelo and Josephine Pizzuro. Mary was raised and educated in Cambridge. Mary worked as a secretary at B. F. Goodrich in Watertown For 20 years. She then went on to work at Galaxy Labs in Burlington. She also worked part-time at Lechmere sales in Cambridge. Mary had a great love for music both opera and classical. She would attend classes at the New England Conservatory in Boston in the evenings after completing her day job. She shared her passion for music with others by teaching piano. Mary loved her home in Burlington and enjoyed working in her garden. She also had a great fondness for animals and always had a dog or cat as part of her life. Mary was women of devote faith. Before her health began to decline she would attend mass daily at St. Margaret’s. She also said the rosary twice a day. Mary is the beloved sister of the late William and Carl Ross. She is the loving aunt of Caryl Coffill of Somerville, John Ross of Ipswich, Ruth Smith of NC, Joan Smith of Milton. She is the dear friend of Warren and Bernice Berglund of Burlington and Linda Knudsen of Townsend. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Monday, July 7 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Sunday from 4-6 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
