Obituary of Grace Dello Russo

Grace A. Dello Russo, a administrative assistant and homemaker, passed away after a year long battle with cancer at the Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading on Wednesday morning, July 9, 2008. She was 71 years old. Grace was born and raised in East Boston. She was the daughter of the late John “Tut” and Geraldine Coviello. She was a graduate of East Boston High School. She married her husband Hank in February of 1958. After living in East Boston for a number of years and starting a family of 3, Grace and Hank chose to move to Burlington in 1967. It was quite a change from city life, but one that she gladly welcomed. Grace had worked as an Administrative Assistant at Raytheon for over 15 years before she retired. Grace enjoyed traveling. Some of her favorite destinations included the tropical islands of the Caribbean, Europe and especially Italy. She loved to experience all the different cultures and wonders of the world. She loved going to the beach, especially those on Cape Cod. She enjoyed the theater and she was a fantastic cook. Even with a career, Grace was a devoted homemaker. Grace new the importance of family and keeping a loving home full of wonderful aromas and laughter. She insisted on hosting holiday dinners and other special occasions. There was no such thing as a small Sunday dinner. She loved entertaining and cooking for family and friends. It gave her great joy to have her family and friends sitting around her dining room table sharing wonderful Italian dishes and great conversation. She had a loving and caring marriage of 50 years. She was a supportive and concerned mother and a proud grandmother of 8. She will be lovingly remembered by all her family and friends. Grace was the beloved wife of Henry J. Dello Russo. She was the loving mother of Eric Dello Russo & his wife Andrea of Laguna Niguel, CA, Mary Russo & her husband Fred of N. Andover, David Dello Russo & his wife Betsy of Tewksbury. She was the sister of John Coviello. She was the proud Nana of Bryan, Matt, Jack, Julianna, & Alex Dello Russo and Christopher, Eric, & Michael Russo. She was also survived by many nieces, nephews, & friends. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Monday, July 14 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Sunday 4-8 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
