Obituary of Anthony Therrien

Anthony S. Therrien a retired barber passed away after a long illness at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford on Friday night, January 27, 2006. He was 57 years old. Mr. Therrien was born at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in March of 1948. He grew up in Lexington and was a graduate of Lexington High School. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. Mr.Therrien loved being a barber. He had an outgoing personality and a natural talent for cutting hair, which made him very well liked by his clients. Over the years in the profession, he had worked in Concord, Boston, and in Florida. He had owned and operated Waterfront Haircutters, which was located in the North End of Boston for many years. He loved that location because of his fondness to the North End. He especially enjoyed the Saint Anthony’s Festival each year. Before his illness, Mr. Therrien and his father had resided in Melbourne Beach, Florida. He enjoyed being close to the water where he could fish and go to the beach. He also enjoyed spending time with his twin daughters in York Beach, Maine, taking them to Faneuil Hall in Boston and cooking Italian Food for his family. Mr. Therrien is the loving father of Maria Gonzalez of Burlington and Melissa Martel of Lexington. Son of Arthur of Woburn and the late Grace (Vallarelli) Therrien. Brother of David and Arthur. Father-in-law of Pavel Gonzalez and Christopher Martel. Also survived by 5 grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington on Wednesday, February 1 at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
