Obituary of Carmen Girolamo

Carmen F. “Peggy” Girolamo, a retired accountant, passed away after a long illness at the Winchester Hospital, on Saturday, July 26, 2008. He was 81 years old. Mr. Girolamo was born in Boston, the son of Italian immigrants, the late Francesco & Felicita Girolamo. He grew up in East Boston and was a graduate of Boston Latin High School. He went on to further his education graduating from Northeastern University and Bryant and Stratton College. Mr. Girolamo had a successful career as an Accountant working for Sanders Co. for over 30 years. He lived in Burlington from 1973 – 1994. He then moved to Stoneham where he had resided for the last 14 years. Mr. Girolamo enjoyed going to the horse races at the Rockingham Race Track in New Hampshire. He dinned every Tuesday at the 99 in Stoneham where he enjoyed many friendships. Mr. Girolamo is the beloved husband of the late Elena (Petrola). He is the loving father of Frank Girolamo & his wife Kathy of Leominster, Mark Girolamo & his wife Eva of Dracut, Joyce Girolamo & her fiancée Francis Moreau of Salem, NH, Joseph Girolamo of Woburn, Jane Conlon & her husband Jim of Dracut, and Kim Vogler & her husband Glenn of Salem, NH. Brother of Fred “Sibby” Girolamo of Peabody and Mary Carbone of Revere. Also survived by 18 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Tuesday, July 29 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington, at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Monday from 4-8 p.m. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington.
