Obituary of Lorraine Claar

Lorraine (Pearse) Claar, a resident of Burlington for 51 years, passed away at her home with her daughter by her side on Sunday evening, August 31, 2008. She was 81 years old. Lorraine was born, raised and educated in Lynn. She was the daughter of the late Alfred and Mildred Pearse. Lorraine worked for 17 years at Filenes at the Burlington Mall as a Sales Associate. She loved her job and took pleasure in serving customers and dressing them well. Lorraine was also an active part of the community of Burlington as she volunteered her time during many Selectmen and School Committee elections. She also volunteered her time transporting cancer patients to and from their doctor appointments. Lorraine also had a talent for flower arranging and photography. Spending quality time with her daughter Debbie, her niece, and her many friends was a very important part of her life. Her memory will bring a smile to those who loved her. Lorraine was the beloved mother of Deborah Claar of Burlington. She was predeceased by her brother, Alfred Pearse. She was the special aunt of Beverly Kilbride of Wakefield. Lorraine was also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral Services will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Saturday Sept. 6 at 12 Noon. Visiting hours Friday from 6-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
