Obituary of Ralph Jacobsen

Ralph Stillman Jacobsen passed away after a brief illness at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH on Saturday morning, September 20th, 2008. He was 72 years old. Ralph was born in Dorchester, MA, and grew up in the Abington and Weymouth areas. He graduated from Weymouth High School and Bentley College. He served in the Army, stationed in Germany, from 1954-1958. He had been a resident of Newmarket, NH for the past 8 years. Ralph had previously worked at Food Enterprises in Canton, MA where he held the position of Director of Information Technology. He continued to work in computer programming and I.T. for much of the remainder of his career. Ralph was currently working for Irving Oil in North Hampton, NH. Ralph lived an active life and created many wonderful memories. Camping and ski trips were highlights for the entire family. He was an avid golfer who also enjoyed boating and cooking for his family and friends. He especially enjoyed spending time spent with his grandchildren and took great pride in seeing them excel in their many activities. He will be lovingly remembered. Ralph was the loving father of Arlene Mossa & her husband Peter of Redding, CT and Wendy Jacobsen & her husband Stephen Wholey of Billerica. Son of Phyllis Jacobsen of Bedford, MA, and the late Iver Jacobsen. Grandfather of Max & Haley Mossa of Redding, CT and Julia & Vivian Wholey of Billerica, MA. Brother of Iver Jacobsen of Halifax, MA, Paula Jacobsen Owens of Orleans, MA, and Ruthanne Jacobsen of TX . Memorial services will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington, MA (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Wednesday, September 24th at 11 a.m. Visiting hours are on Tuesday, September 23rd, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
