Obituary of Katherine Collotta
Katherine “Kathy” Collotta, passed away at the Kaplan Family Hospice in Danvers on Saturday morning, Sept. 27, 2008. The daughter of the late Ray and Tillie Collotta, she was 65 years old.
Kathy was born in Boston. She was raised and educated in Medford. Kathy was born with Down’s Syndrome. Despite this disability, she lived an active and full life. She previously attended Triangle Institute in Malden and the day program at CMARC in Woburn. She enjoyed participating in the many social activities with her friends from both Triangle and CMARC. She was a huge fan of Professional Wrestling. Her favorite wrestler was Hulk Hogan. Her father would take her to the events, which was a big thrill for Kathy. She also enjoyed listening to music and Elvis Presley was one of her favorite artists. She also liked to color and do crossword puzzles. Kathy resided at a group in Medford for the last ten years where her care was outstanding. Kathy will be lovingly remembered by her sisters, their families and her many friends.
Kathy is the beloved daughter of the late Ray & Tillie Collotta. She is the loving sister of Diane Johnson & her husband Paul of Billerica, Marie Shannon & her husband Brian of Burlington, Patti Labombard & her husband Jack of Burlington. Kathy is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. A visiting hour will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Tuesday, Sept. 30 from 9 – 10 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
