Obituary of Sophie Worob

Sophie Worob, a resident of Chelsea for 40 years passed away after a brief illness at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington on Saturday night, October 4, 2008. She was a day short of her 88th birthday. Sophie was born in Boston, the daughter of Austrian immigrants, the late Michael and Mary Sorocky. She grew up in the West End of Boston and was a graduate of Boston Girl’s High School. She was an independent woman, who worked for 30 years as an assembler at Raytheon. She enjoyed going to Bingo with her friends, traveling, and her family. She was a loving and caring mother and a proud grandmother and great grandmother. Sophie was the loving mother of Richard Worob & his wife Marilyn of Las Vegas, NV, formerly of Burlington, and Lillian Fusco & her husband Ray of Martha’s Vineyard. She was predeceased by her brother, Walter Sorocky and his late wife Helen. She was also survived by 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn Street, BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Friday October 10 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday 3-7 p.m. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
