Obituary of Margaret Munroe

Margaret “Peg” Munroe, a 53-year resident of Burlington passed away on her 91st birthday at the Rivercrest Nursing Care Facility in Concord on Monday morning, October 13, 2008. Peg was born in Somerville, the daughter of the late Bernard and Agnes Lynam. She grew up and was educated in Cambridge. She had worked as a technician for Microwave Company and Raytheon both in the Burlington facilities. Peg moved to Burlington in 1955 to raise her family. She enjoyed ceramics and doll collecting. She was an active parishioner at Saint Malachy’s Church and was a volunteer at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington. She enjoyed keeping up with current events and politics. Peg was a loving wife, a devoted and caring mother, and a proud grandmother. Peg was the wife of the late Gerard C. Munroe. She was the loving mother of Linda L. Hughes & her husband Jack of Acton and Mark L. Munroe of Woburn. She was predeceased by her brothers; Paul and John Lynam. She was the proud grandmother of Kara Hughes of NY, NY, Christopher Hughes of Seattle, WA, Stacey Munroe of Medford, and Marianne Munroe of Burlington. She was the great grandmother of Isabel & Sophie Kauffmann, Zoe & Jack Hughes. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Friday, October 17 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Malachy’s Church, 99 Bedford St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington.
