Obituary of Elizabeth Small
Elizabeth J. “Betsey” (Smith) Small, a resident of Burlington, passed away at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center on Sunday morning, January 4, 2009. The wife of the late William S. Small, she was 54 years old.
Betsey was born in Weymouth. She was the daughter of the late Charles P. and Marion J. Smith. She was raised and educated in Hull. Betsey worked as a Lab Tech at various Nursing Homes including Glendale in Woburn and Salter Health Care in Winchester. She was an avid reader. She enjoyed taking trips to Foxwoods with her late friend Diane. She loved to work in the yard whether it be gardening or taking care of the pool. Betsey loved her nieces and nephews. Her most proud role in her life was that of “Full Time Dedicated Aunt”. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for them. If their parents said “no” they went right to their “Aunt Betsey” who was sure to take care of their needs. Betsey was a loving sister, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed.
Betsey is the beloved wife of the late William S. Small. She is the loving sister of Michael E. Smith & his wife Donna of Madison, NH, Paul F. Smith of Fort Collins, CO, Cindy Lee Gratton & her husband Carl of Raymond, NH, Charles P. Smith, Jr. & his wife Mary of Madison, NH. Betsey is the dear friend of Edward Simmons of Burlington and his wife the late Diane M. Betsey is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews and 7 great nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday, Jan. 8 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Malachy’s Church, 99 Bedford St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
