Obituary of Charles McKenney

Charles C. McKenney passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 26, 2009, he was 69 years old. Charles was born in Somerville. He was the son of Canadian immigrants the late Charles and Margaret McKenney. He was raised and educated in Somerville and was a graduate of Somerville High School. Charles was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving his country in the United States Navy. Charles worked for 35 years as a HVAC Specialist working for both Raytheon and Cummings Properties. He loved the outdoors. He enjoyed the fishing and visiting the ocean. As a child he spent his summers in Nova Scotia Canada and continued to visit to Nova Scotia as an adult. Family was the most important part of his life and he treasured the times spent with his children and grandchildren. Charles was the beloved father of Arlene McKenney of Winchester, Laura Rand of Billerica and Daniel McKenney of Woburn. He is the brother of Gloria Walsh of Holbrook, Ann Zavisho of New Canaan, CT, Marilyn Deveaux of GA, and the late Elaine Johnson and Juile McCarthy. He is the grandfather of Scott MacKenzie, Danielle and William McKenney all of Winchester, Christopher McKenney, Emily Rand both of Billerica. Former husband of Geraldine McKenney of Burlington. Funeral Services will be held at the Pine Haven Chapel, Bedford St., Burlington on Thursday, Jan. 29 at 1:00 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
