Obituary of Josephine Wightman

Josephine Gangi Wightman, formerly of Woburn and Winchester, passed away on May 16, 2006 at the villa Crest Nursing Home in Manchester, New Hampshire from complications from Alzheimer’s disease. She was 81years old. Josephine was born on April 20, 1925 in Woburn. She was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Providenzia Gangi. Josephine lived in the Woburn and Winchester area most of her life until moving to Londonderry and Meredith, New Hampshire. Josephine had a great enthusiasm for life. She enjoyed knitting, playing cards, bowling, and bingo. She was also a great cook. She enjoyed spending her winter months in Hobe Sound, Florida. Josephine was a loving and caring woman who gave of herself to others. She was devoted to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings and large extended family. Josephine is the loving mother of Charlene Wightman Puzzo & her husband Thomas Puzzo of Derry, NH, Bennett Wightman, Jr.& his wife Gayle of Sturbridge, Joseph Wooding Wightman & his wife Bonnie Jean of Denmark, ME, Janet Wightman Politi & her husband Anthony Politi, M.D. of Willsboro, NY, and the late Richard Boyd Wightman. She is the sister of Anthony Gangi of Woburn, Albert Gangi of Meredith, NH, Louis Gangi of Woburn and the late Ann Rooney, Carmella Anderson, Elizabeth Puleo, James, David, C. Edward “Huck”, Michael, Charles, and Salvatore Gangi, Dear Friend of Joan Barnes of Deerfield, NH. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Saturday, May 20 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Charles Church, Woburn at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
