Obituary of Donald Christie
Donald G. Christie, co-owner of D & R Aluminum passed away after a brief illness at his home in Burlington on Saturday evening, January 31, 2009. He was 73 years old.
Don was born in Gardiner, Maine, the son of the late Vernon and Mary Christie. He grew up and was educated in North Reading. He continued to reside in North Reading most of his life. He had worked with his twin brother Ron for over 20 years. They owned and operated D & R Aluminum, which sold and installed siding, windows, doors, roofs, and other constuction materials and projects.
Don life centered around his family and friends. He was a member of the Moose, Knights of Columbus, and Free Spirits Motorcycling Club in Wilmington. He had a number of interests including; motorcycling, fishing, darts, pool, bowling, and travel. He enjoyed sharing his interests with his friends and family. He was especially close to his twin brother Ron, whom he worked with side by side and lived with in his final days. Don and Ron were both members of the Free Spirits Motorcycling Club. He will be fondly remebered by his many friends and family.
A memorial service will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Wednesday, February 4 at 1 p.m. A memorial visitation will be held from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
