Obituary of Jeannette Daley
Jeannette B. Daley, a woman devoted to her family, passed away at the Elliott Hospital in Manchester, NH on Thursday morning, March 19, 2009. She was 71 years old. Jeannette was born in Boston. She grew up and was educated in Milton. After marrying her late husband, John J. Daley, Jr., she eventually settled in Burlington in 1963 to raise her 3 children. Although Jeannette worked for a number of companies as a secretary, she considered her primary occupations were housewife and mother. She was a supportive and loving wife. She was a caring and nurturing mother, who supported her childrens’ interests and activities. Her home was always open to her childrens’ friends. She enjoyed watching her sons play hockey and soccer. She was a proud grandmother, who cherished the time spent with her granddaughters. She was looking forward to Amanda’s upcoming wedding. She was also a loving and supportive daughter and sister. She enjoyed volunteering at the Giving Tree at the Burlington Mall during the holiday season and at the Burlington Council on Aging. She enjoyed bowling. She loved to go to Bingo with her friends and an occasional trip to the casino in Connecticut. She will be missed by all her family and friends.
Jeannette was the beloved wife of the late John J. Daley, Jr. She was the loving mother of Jacqueline Turni & her husband Anthony of Derry, NH, Michael Daley & his wife Linda of North Andover, and Brian Daley of Rowley. She was the daughter of Jeannette Hogan of Milton and the late Arthur Hogan and sister of Arthur “Sonny” Hogan, of MI, Loraley Griffin of Milton, Pat Cavanaugh of Norwell, James Hogan of SC, Paul Hogan of Norwell, and Cheryll Hogan of Waltham. She was the proud grandmother of Jennifer Turni of Dover, NH, Amanda Turni of Derry, NH, and Ryann Daley of N. Andover.
Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn Street, BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Monday, March 23 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at Noon. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington. Memorials in Jeannette’s name may be made to People Helping People, P.O. Box 343, Burlington, MA 01803.
