Obituary of Margaret Proulx
Margaret “Peggy” (Wylie) Proulx, a resident of Burlington for 49 years, passed away at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center on Monday morning, May 4, 2009. The wife of the late Arthur L. Proulx, she was 70 years old.
Peggy was born, raised and educated in Somerville. She was the daughter of the late Archibald and Mary Wylie. Peggy led a full and active life. She worked for Peter Correia Real Estate in Burlington. She also worked at BLH Electronics, EG&G in Wakefield, Continental Resources in Bedford, and A & M Laundry in Billerica. She was also a “Lunch Mother” at the Pine Glenn School. In the 1970’s Peggy went back to school obtaining her Associates Degree at Middlesex Community College. She also obtained a Paralegal Certificate. Peggy enjoyed bowling, crocheting and playing bingo. Peggy and her late husband Arthur were well known in the town of Burlington for their trips to Foxwoods a tradition she continued after his death in 2007. Peggy’s family was the center of her life. She was a loving and supportive wife, mother and grandmother.
Peggy was the beloved wife of the late Arthur L. She was the loving mother of Michael of Burlington, Ellen Ferguson of Burlington, and Phyllis Dumas & her husband Jeffrey of Billerica. She was the sister of the late Marion Thompson. She is Grandmother of Jessica, Sarah, David & Jed Ferguson.
Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday, May 7 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington. Memorials in Peggy’s name may be made to St. Margaret’s Building Fund, 111 Winn St., Burlington, MA 01803.
