Obituary of Anna Fitzgerald

Anna F. (Finn) Fitzgerald, a lifelong resident of Malden, passed away at the Life Care Center in Stoneham, after a brief illness, on Monday morning, June 15, 2009. The wife of the late Francis J. Fitzgerald, she was 91 years old. Anna was born, raised and educated in Malden. She was one of 7 children born to the late George and Anna Finn. Anna’s family was the center of her life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She had a close relationship with her brothers and sisters growing up which continued through the years. Anna and her husband Frank had a wonderful life together raising their three children. As a family they enjoyed spending their summers in Hampton Beach, family gatherings and taking trips together to such places as Florida and Hawaii. Anna was an avid sports fan who fallowed all the Boston sports teams especially the Red Sox. Anna was blessed to have three grandchildren whose lives she was a part of and whom she was very proud of. Anna will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters and her many loving nieces and nephews. Anna was the wife of the late Francis J. Fitzgerald. She was the loving mother of David F. Fitzgerald & his wife Janet S. of Burlington, Janet M. Fitzgerald of Malden and Lisa J. Hammersley & her husband Alan of Lynnfield. She was the sister of Mary Burke of Danvers, James Finn of Melrose, John Finn of Peabody, Margaret “Peggy” McBride of Stoneham all formerly of Malden and the late Roy and David Finn. Anna was the devoted grandmother of Evan, Kelsey & Jackson Hammersley. Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Wednesday, June 17 from 9 – 10:30 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 11 a.m. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
