Obituary of Vincent Strazzullo
Vincent G. “Vinnie” Strazzullo, a resident of Burlington for 48 years, passed away surrounded by family at his home on Saturday, June 27, 2009. The beloved husband of the late Lorraine “Susie” (Pullo), he was 82 years old.
Vinnie was born, raised and educated in Somerville. He was the son of Italian immigrants the late Tobia and Margaret Strazzullo.
Vinnie was a veteran of World War II serving his country in the United States Army. He was the recipient of the World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal.
Vinnie began his career as a Butcher at Tobia’s Market in the Winter Hill neighborhood of Somerville with his Father and later continued as a meat cutter and manager at the First National Food Store for thirty years. He also worked at High Voltage Engineering Co. in Burlington. Vinnie and his late wife Lorraine had a wonderful marriage and life together. They traveled all over the world and loved to go dancing. They shared many good times with their great circle of friends. Vinnie was an extraordinary cook and enjoyed preparing meals of all kinds for his family and loved ones. Vinnie was a member of the Burlington Knights of Columbus Council 4978 which was a very important part of his life. He was a 3rd & 4th Degree, Past Grand Knight and a member of the Honor Guard. Vinnie was also a member of the VFW in Waltham Post 10334.
He is the brother of Joseph Strazzullo & his late wife Adele of Waltham, Tina M. Fogarty & her husband Robert of ME, and the late Francis Strazzullo. He was the brother-in-law of the late Ralph Graziano & Carmella Campbell. Vinnie was the uncle of the late Rease Campbell & his wife Susan of Medford, Carlene Campbell of Somerville, Allison Campbell & her fiancé Dan McCabe of Arlington, & Lauren Campbell of Medford. Also survived by his niece Ann Marie Strazzullo of Malden, nephew Frank Strazzullo of Mashpee & his wife Janice, Peter Strazzullo of Billerica & Jason Strazzullo of Waltham.
Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Wednesday July 1 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, 796 Boston Road, Billerica at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, BURLINGTON.
