Obituary of Kathleen Cronin
Kathleen Ann Cronin passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Monday, July 20, 2009. She was 77 years old.
Kathleen was born, Catherine Ann Larkin in Boston. She was the daughter of Irish immigrants, the late John and Margaret Larkin. Kathleen considered her primary occupation was that of homemaker. Over the years, she has held a number of jobs including a bus driver for the Burlington Schools.Kathleen had a number of interests and activities over the years. She was a talented speed skater when she was younger and even had visions of competing in the Olympics. She was a member of several bowling leaugues. She enjoyed participiating in the Knights of Columbus Minstral Shows. She loved to dance. She also enjoyed collecting Beannie Babies. Kathleen was always happiest when she was surrounded by her family and friends. She married her husband when she was 17 years old and they have spent over 60 years together. She was a loving and caring mother of 6. She was a proud grandother who didn’t mind getting down to her grandkids level to have fun. She was known to have helped in the building of many a tree fort over the years with her grandchildren. She loved in sharing in their excitement and being a vital part of their lives. The holidays were always a special time for Kathleen and the Cronin family. She relished in the excitement and enthusium of a big family.
Kathleen was the beloved wife of 60 years of John Francis Cronin. Loving mother of John Cronin & his wife Cheryl of Burlington, David Cronin & Joanne of Burlington, Paul Cronin & his wife Allyson of Burlington, Colleen Lundgren & her husband Billy of Burlington, Kasey Cronin of Woburn, Maureen Bousquert & her husband Brian of East Bridgewater. She was the loving grandmother of Jason, Zac, Nila, Matt, Kerrie, Krista, Paul II, Joseph, Billy, Emma, Joshua, and the late Nichole and great grandmother of Siarra, Jayden, Makenna, Jacob,Zachory and Jeyana. She was the sister of Walter Larkin of CA, Robert Larkin of CA, Willie Larkin of ME and the late Margaret Conroy, Maureen Gallant, and Janet Littlewood. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Wednesday, July 22 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Followed by Funeral Services at 8:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are repectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Kathleen’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
