Obituary of Phyllis Vales

Phyllis A. (Emery) Vales, passed away at the Lahey Medical Center in Burlington on Tuesday evening, October 10, 2006. She was 54 years old. Phyllis was born in Medford. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Hazel Emery. She was raised and educated in Medford and Framingham. She attended Fitchburg State College. Phyllis was employed for the last eight years at Hybricon in Ayer. Prior to working at Hybricon she worked for 18 years at Genrad in Concord. Phyllis was an avid Bird Watcher and was a member of the Massachusetts Audubon Society. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed walking and hiking such at such locations as Wachusett Mountain. Phyllis was an avid reader. She loved to read to her grandchildren, and listen to them read to her. Phyllis’s family was most important to her and she treasured the many special times she spent her son Chris, his wife Tammie, her grandchildren, and her large extended family. Phyllis is the beloved mother of Christopher Weaver & his wife Tammie of Billerica. She is the loving grandmother of Benjamin, Samuel and Emery Weaver. She is the sister of Arlene Parkhurst of Waltham, Robert Charles & his wife Joan of Medway, and Marie Greathead of Ashland. She is the beloved niece of Dorothy Charles of Waltham who lovingly became her second mother and Esther Ann Teal of Signal Mt., TN. She is the dear friend of Walter Haines of Townsend. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Services will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Tuesday, October 17 at 7 p.m. Memorials in Phyllis’s name may be made to the Open Bible Academy, 3 Winn St., Burlington, MA 01803
