Obituary of Claire Louise Savoia
Claire Louise “Weezie” (McLaughlin) Savoia passed away unexpectedly at her home on Thursday morning, July 30, 2009. She was 73 years old.
Louise was born in the family homestead in Burlington. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Claire McLaughlin. She was a life long resident of Burlington. She was a graduate of Burlington High School, Class of 1954. She had worked as an electronics technician at Sylvania, KSW, and Frequency Resources.
Louise lived for her family and friends. She was devoted to her family. She had many dear friends and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. She was a true hero at just 16 years of age, when she saved family members lives in a house fire. It was her natural way of reacting to someone in need of assistance. Her warmth, concern for others, and humor always made the time spent with her delightful. She was a big Red Sox fan. She enjoyed going on vacations to warm destinations like Paradise Island, Bahamas, Aruba, and California. She enjoyed going to Bingo with her friends. She loved family get togethers and celebrations like Thanksgiving, St. Patrick’s Day and July Fourth. Her family and friends are saddened by her loss.
Louise was the beloved wife of Ronald J. Savoia of Burlington. She was the loving mother of Lisa Svenson & her husband Robert of Tewksbury, Brenda Archibald & her husband Joseph of Burlington, and Janet Sherman & her husband Daniel of Cornish, ME. She was the sister of Paul McLaughlin of Pepperell, the late Ann Collins and Elizabeth Carlyle. She was the proud grandmother of Jillian Rhynd, Keith Svenson, Michelle Archibald, Kerrianne & Daniel Sherman. She was proud to be a great grandmother of Sienna Louise Rhynd.
Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Monday, Aug. 3 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Sunday 3-7 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Louise’s name may be made to the Eastern Paralyzed Veterans of America, 7 Mill Brook Rd, Wilton, NH 03086.
