Obituary of Mary Petersen

Mary C. (Coleman) Petersen, a resident of Burlington for 68 years, passed away at the Lexington Health Care on Saturday afternoon, August 1, 2009. She was 95 years old. Mary was born, raised and educated in Cambridge. She was one of 9 children born to the late Richard and Catherine Coleman. Mary and her husband settled in Burlington in 1941 where they raised their four children. Mary was the matriarch of the Petersen family. She was blessed to have a life that spanned 95 years spent with her loving family. She will be lovingly remembered and her legacy will be her family. Mary was the beloved wife of the late Russell L. Petersen. She was the loving mother of Russell R. Petersen & his wife Leona of Burlington, William J. Petersen & his wife Janice of Billerica, Mary Lou Condon of Burlington, & Linda Spreadbury of Lake St. Louis, MI. She was the sister of Agnes Coleman of Somerville, Rita Pare of Londonderry, NH, William Coleman of Medford, and the late Margaret O’Riley, Catherine Hill, Helen, Edward & Richard Coleman. She was the grandmother of the late Russell R. Petersen, Jr. and great grandmother of the late McKenzie Condon. Mary was also survived by 19 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Malachy’s Church, 99 Bedford St., Burlington on Wednesday August 5 at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
