Obituary of Ruth Hinchey

Ruth L. Hinchey, a homemaker, passed away at her home on Wednesday morning, August 5, 2009. She was 83 years old. Ruth was born in Watertown, the daughter of the late Edward and Bernice Hamilton. She grew up in Arlington and was a graduate of Arlington High School. She was married in 1956 and settled in Burlington on January 1, 1958. Ruth’s life revolved around her family. She was a devoted wife and homemaker. She made a warm and loving home for her husband, son, and 3 daughters. She cherished time spent with family, may it be shopping, barbecues, birthdays, watching a Red Sox game, or the special “Girls Only” excursions. She was a proud grandmother who frequently attended her grandchildren’s baseball, softball, and soccer games, as well as their many recitals and other activities. She always placed her family as her first priority and she will be lovingly remembered. Ruth was the beloved wife of 53 years of Kenneth T. Hinchey of Burlington. She was the loving mother of Stephen Hinchey & his wife Janet of Orange, CT, Barbara Carney & her husband John of Pepperell, Nancy Hinchey of York, ME, and Karen O’Rourke & her husband Robert of Alton, NH. She was the sister of Bernice Lavey of Tewksbury, Richard Hamilton of Billerica, the late Edward and Wilfred Hamilton. She was the loving grandmother of Kristine Ciccarelli, Amanda Carney, Bryan Carney, Jenna and Chelsea Hinchey. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St. BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Sat. Aug. 8 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 p.m. Interment in St. Bernard Cemetery, Concord.
