Obituary of James Boyd

James W. Boyd, Jr., 71 of Brunswick, Me formerly of Burlington, MA died Saturday, August 15, 2009 at the home of his daughter Bonnie Loupe whom he resided with for many years. He was born on September 21, 1937 in Waltham, MA. Jim was the son of the late James W. Boyd and Mary MacNeil Boyd. He served in the U. S. Navy as a radio operator from 1955 – 1958. He married Patricia L. O’Leary on June 22, 1963. Jim worked for RCA in Burlington, MA for 35 years until his retirement. He enjoyed playing cribbage and collecting baseball cards. Jim loved being around family and friends. He was an avid fan of all Boston sports teams. Jim was on the Auxiliary Fire Department in the town of Burlington for many years. Jim is survived by his twin daughters Bonnie Loupe of Brunswick, ME and Barbara Johansen of Woolwich, ME. He was the brother of Donald Boyd of Meredith, NH. He was the grandfather of Frank Loupe of Wicasett, ME, Nicole Loupe of Brunswick, ME, Stacey Moore of Georgetown, ME, and the late Robyn Johansen. Jim is also survived by 6 great grandchildren and his beloved dog “Duchess”. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn Street, BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday, Aug. 20 at noon. Followed by graveside services at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Bedford St., Burlington at 1 p.m. Visiting hours Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. Memorials in Jim’s name may be made to the Maine’s Alzheimer’s Association, 163 Lancaster St., Portland, ME 04101-2419.
