Josephine R. (Maltese) Montemagno, passed away at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House on Thursday morning, September 9, 2009. The wife of the late Joseph G. Montemagno she was 81 years old. Josephine was born, raised and educated in Everett. She was one of six children born to Italian immigrants that late Bernard and Maria Maltese. She lived in Burlington from 1962 – 1991 and then split the year between Naples, Florida and Yarmouth Port, MA. Josephine worked for many years as a Bus Driver for Fiore Bus Co. in Burlington where she was a school bus for the Burlington Public Schools. She also worked as an Interior Designer for Fanait Textiles in Boston for over 10 years. Being a designer was natural for Josephine, because she loved to shop and decorate her home. Josephine had a number of interests and hobbies. She enjoyed traveling. She and her late husband, Joseph, would take yearly vacations to Las Vegas, cruises, or any other exotic destination. They enjoyed spending their retirement years in the warm weather of Florida and Cape Cod. She was a fantastic cook and baker. Her dinners and desserts were always delicious. She enjoyed shopping for clothes. She was a devoted wife, a caring mother, and proud grandmother and great grandmother. She will be lovingly remembered. Josephine was the wife of the late Joseph G. Montemagno. She was the loving mother of Denise Libby & her husband William Libby,Jr. of Alexandria, NH and Kenneth Montemagno of Burlington. She was the sister of Salvatore Maltese, Angie Nicole both of Everett, Tina Surabian of Lexington, and the late Ann SciaScia and Mary Stirrat. She was the proud grandmother of Marie Montemagno, Kenneth Montemagno, Jr., Jesse Montemagno and William Libby,III, Michelle Libby and Nicole Libby. She was the great Grandmother of Aiden Montemagno. Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Saturday, Sept. 12 from 9 – 11 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be held in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on Monday, Sept. 14 at 12:30 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Memorials in Josephine’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Massachusetts Chapter, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
