Obituary of Roberta Cahill
Roberta L. Cahill passed away suddenly at her home on Saturday morning, September 19, 2009. She was 55 years old.
Roberta was born in San Diego, CA, the daughter of the late Chester and Glendora Kimes. Her father served in the Navy, so her family, which included 11 brother and sisters, moved with their father to whatever Naval Base he was stationed, with Jacksonville FL being the longest duration. She was a graduate of University of Lowell, which is now called University of Massachusetts, Lowell Campus. She worked as a Material Control Planner in the Manufacturing Industry.
Roberta was a hard working single mother, who did her best to provide for 3 sons. She supported them in their interests, activities and sports. She shared her love for all things “Disney” with her boys. At least once a year, she visited Disney World. There was just something about the Disney World atmosphere, the excitement, and magic, which just made her yearn to visit. Her family shared in many special memories at the resort and it will always hold a special place in their hearts.
Roberta was the beloved mother of Michael Rennie of Nashua, Jonathan Cahill & his wife Amy of Chelmsford, and Brandon Harrison of Woburn. She was the proud grandmother of Kyle Rennie of Nashua, NH. She was also survived by 8 brothers and sisters and 17 nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday, September 24 at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Interment will be private. In lieu of Flowers, memorials in Roberta’s name may be made to the Make–A-Wish Foundation of Greater Boston, 1 Bullfinch Place, 2nd Floor, Boston, MA 02114 or www.mass.wish.org.
