Obituary of Chester Lindquist
Chester W Lindquist, born January 29, 1917. He was ushered to his new home in Heaven on October 16, 2009 at the age of 92. He leaves his wife of 68 years, Vera C. Lindquist, his two daughters, Joan Govostes and her husband Bill and Joyce Marshall and her husband George, all of Woburn and his son, Steven Lindquist and his wife Betsy of Chelmsford. Chester also leaves 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren
After returning from service overseas during WW II in mid the 1940’s Chester and his brother Harold became the owners and operators of Lindquist Conservatories in Wakefield, MA. For over 40 years they grew excellent cut flowers and seasonal flowering plants as well as running a retail flower shop, now known as Lindquist Flowers, Inc. which is still operated by his family.
Along with gardening and landscaping, his hobbies in his later years included learning to play the organ. He spent much of his retirement days practicing and playing hymns and choruses.
From a youth, he has attended and been involved in the many ministries at The Church of the Open Bible, in Burlington, MA.
Services were private. Memorials or donations may be made in his name to the Education Department of the Church of the Open Bible, Winn & Wyman Street, Burlington, MA 01803.
