Obituary of Lillian Hitchcock
Lillian R. (Oliver) Hitchcock passed away at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center on Sunday morning, October 25, 2009, after a short illness. The wife of the late William she was 79 years old.
Lillian was born and raised in Medford. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Lillian Oliver. She was a graduate of the Medford High School Class of 1948. Lillian and her husband lived in Wilmington for 8 years before settling in Burlington in 1974. Lillian worked at Jordan Marsh, Almy’s , Penny Saver and in sales for Dutch Maid for 17 years.
Lillian was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Mason’s sister organization, where she served as Worthy Matron as well as several offices of Royall Chapter in Medford in the 1960’s and 1980’s before transferring to the Billerica Chapter for the past 15 years. She was a supporter of the youth group, the Rainbow girls. Lillian was a member of the Wilmington Methodist church. She loved gardening and sewing.
Lillian was the beloved wife of the late William W. She was the loving mother of Marjorie Baiardi & her husband Thomas of Rowley, William “Billy” Hitchcock of Burlington. She was the sister of Edith Caroline Holmes of Nashua, NH. Lillian was the grandmother of Stephen Baiardi, Katrina Baiardi, & Isabella Hitchcock.
Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday, Oct. 29 at 10 a.m. Followed by a Funeral Service at the United Methodist Church, 87 Church St. Wilmington at 11 a.m. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 p.m. with an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington. Memorials in Lillian’s name may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701
