Obituary of Mary Riccio

Mary (LaMarca) Riccio passed away following a courageous battle with cancer on Friday morning, October 30, 2009. The wife of the late Dante Alfred Riccio, she was 71 years old. Mary was born in Boston. She was raised and educated in East Boston. She was the daughter of the late Alfred and Mary LaMarca. After her marriage she lived in Arlington until moving to Burlington in 1971. She then lived in Tewksbury and Billerica. Mary had a successful career as an Executive Secretary. She worked for 15 years at Bay Bank in the New England Executive Park in Burlington as well as Transition Automation in Billerica. Mary’s family was the center of her life. Every summer the family would vacation together for a week in Cape Cod. They spent Sunday dinners together as a family as well as all the holidays. Mary was a wonderful cook and everyone loved her Italian dishes especially her Eggplant Parmesan. She adored her grandchildren and had a very special relationship with her sister Janice. Mary will be lovingly missed and remembered by all those whose lives she touched. Mary was the beloved wife of the late Dante Alfred Riccio. She was the loving mother of Dante Riccio of Provincetown, Janice Attaya & her husband Mark of Billerica, Julie Sulfaro & her husband Steve of Nashua, Lori Chisholm & her husband Randy of Lowell. She was the sister of Alphonse “Ski” LaMarca of Revere & his wife the late Annette and Janice Travaglini & her husband John of Plastow, NH formerly of Burlington. She was the grandmother of Steven & Christina Sulfaro and Victoria & Vanessa Attaya and Serena Chisholm. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Monday, Nov. 2 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Sunday 3-7 p.m. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, BURLINGTON.
