Obituary of Louis Lemone

Louis Lemone, 96, of Pelham, NH and formerly of Woburn and Haverhill, died Thursday morning, July 19 at the Wingate Belvidere Nursing Home, Lowell. He was born in Bethel, VT, September 8, 1915 son of the late Anthony and Elizabeth (DiFilippo) Lemone. His family moved to Woburn when he was young and Louis was educated in the Woburn school system. While growing up in the South End of Woburn, he met, courted, and married his wife of 65 years, Rose Restivo. He resided in Woburn most of his life where he owned and operated the former Lemone’s Bakery for over 40 years until his retirement in 1975. Also during this time he assisted his wife who was operating a dry goods business from their home in Woburn. His true passion during his life was socializing with his family and friends and was often busy participating with them in a variety of local activities. He was always willing to offer a helping hand. His other major passion was traveling with Rose. They traveled to Europe several times, particularly enjoying Italy, which they visited three times. He also enjoyed several cross country trips, in which they visited most of the States, including Hawaii, and most of the National Parks in the US. After his retirement he lived in Haverhill and New Durham, NH prior to moving to Pelham, NH. During this period, he enjoyed taking care of and visiting with his grandchildren, and later on enjoyed talking with his great grandchildren. His survivors include a son, Louis Lemone of Pelham, NH, a sister, Clara Bowers of Woburn, two granddaughters, Jill and her husband Tim Looney of Wilton, CT, Jamie and her husband Bodhi Sering of New Market, NH, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his devoted relatives, Anthony Chiumiento of Woburn, Sam and Anne Restivo of Burlington, and Rosemary Restivo of Woburn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral Wednesday morning, July 25 at 9:00 from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington, MA (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 in St. Charles Borromeo Church,280 Main St., Woburn. Burial will be in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
