Madelyn 'Midge' (Fitzpatrick) Runyan, passed away at the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry, NH on Sunday morning, December 20, 2009. She was 72 years old. Midge was born, raised and educated in Melrose. She was the daughter of the late Gerald and Catherine Fitzpatrick. She lived in Burlington and Billerica before moving to Nashua, NH where she had resided for the past twenty years. Midge had a full and active life. She was self-employed in the accounting industry for many years. She was a member of the League of Woman’s Voters in Burlington. Midge's life was dedicated to raising her 6 children. In later years she would spend much of her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Midge is the beloved mother of David Runyan of Athol, MA, Michael Runyan & his wife Lisa of Burlington, Michelle Runyan of Tyngsboro, Paul Runyan of Nashua, NH, Paula Lloyd & her husband Paul of Nashua, NH, and Keith Runyan & his wife Christine of Billerica. Sister of Jean Hayward & her husband Bill of NH and John Fitzpatrick & his wife Marie of CA. Grandmother of David of Worcester, Matthew of Athol, Mark of Chicago, IL, Jeremy of Nashua, NH, Nicole of Billerica, Robert & his wife Janine of Revere, Michael of Hollywood CA, Paul of Billerica, Steven of Billerica, Tyler of Billerica, Ryan of Billerica & McKenzie Runyan of Billerica, Michael Gillespie of Nashua, NH & Jillian Gillespie of Tyngsboro . Also survived by 6 great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Tuesday, Dec. 22 from 4 – 7 p.m. Followed by prayer services at 7:15 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials in Midge’s name may be made to Beacon Hospice, 157 Main Dunstable Road, Suite 201, Nashua, NH 03060.
